Kienberg is located at the foot of the Saalhöhe between Frick and Aarau, surrounded by forest, meadows and hiking trails. Kindergarten and primary school are located in the village, secondary school is attended in Gelterkinden. Shopping facilities exist in Gelterkinden and Frick. The Postauto connects Kienberg with Gelterkinden, where there are connections to Olten and Basel. The A2 motorway connection in Frick is reachable in around 10 minutes by car, Aarau and Gelterkinden in around 15 minutes, Olten in around 25 minutes.
