Room in a shared flat

A lovely 15.4 m² room on the first floor is becoming available in our charming house with a large garden, just a 10-minute walk from the forest (uphill) and the river (downhill). The bus stops are only 3 minutes away, and Wipkingen train station is a 10-minute walk away – so the house is very well connected!
The room is part of a three-person shared house, which you'll share with two other flatmates (including me).
The first floor has a shared bathroom with a bathtub/shower and toilet, accessible to everyone. I (Jean-Claude) mainly use my own small bathroom on the second floor, where my room is also located. The kitchen and living/dining area are fully furnished and available for everyone to use.

About us:
Jean-Claude (Swiss German)
I am in my late 30s, worked for a long time as an IT project manager, reoriented myself about 2 years ago, and now work increasingly in the social sector. I'm sociable and look forward to shared "flat" evenings with cooking, eating, or other activities. At the same time, I also value my "me-time," when I withdraw. I do sports 1-3 times a week and enjoy both being at home and being out and about a lot (I really enjoy small raves on the weekends).
I'd appreciate it if you understood Swiss German. It's no requirement though.
I get along very well with Sara, who's been in the house for 2 years and with whom you'd share the floor and bathroom. We occasionally eat together, planned or unplanned, or meet up for activities with our respective circles of friends.
That said, Sara and I aren't so joined at the hip that I'd worry about you being a third wheel 😉

Sara (Italian)
I'm an early-30s Italian ETH ecology postdoc, splitting my time about 50/50 between campus and home (I work from the small office on the 1st floor). My schedule is quite flexible (beauty of academic life), which suits my active lifestyle. I'm big on sports (running, swimming, skiing, etc.) and the outdoors (camping and trekking trips). My dog, Pepa, is often my adventure buddy, although she's getting a bit older. Pepa is a rescued dog and she's a bit anxious around new people. It takes her a little patience to warm up to new faces, but she's an absolute sweetheart once she gets to know you.
Jean-Claude and I love maintaining a warm, social, and easygoing home. We share spontaneous dinners or hang out on weekends, and I also enjoy hosting friends for apero, dinners, movie nights, etc. JC sometimes joins in as well. All housemates are more than welcome to join and to host their own friends too! All I (and JC) care about is good communication and mutual respect: giving a heads-up beforehand so everyone is in the loop, and making sure to leave the common spaces in good condition afterwards. I have a very basic knowledge of German for now, so it is quite important for me that the new housemate can easily communicate in English.

The garden:
Our house has a huge garden with plenty of space for creative projects and growing your own vegetables – so if you have a green thumb, you'll feel right at home! You shouldn't mind doing a bit of gardening, but don't worry: the robotic lawn mower takes care of the grass.

About you:
We are looking for a flatmate between their late 20s and early 40s who already has experience living in shared accommodation and is interested in an active and friendly household.
We'd appreciate a housemate who has a similar balance of "being home" and "being out." If you're barely at home, this might be okay as well, but in general we're looking for a person to live together with. Not somebody who just has a room in our house.
It's important to us that we keep the shared spaces – especially the kitchen – tidy. On a cleanliness scale from 1 to 10, I'd rate ourselves around a 7. Together, we can decide how we want to divide cleaning and other household responsibilities.
