Finnen, also known as Finnu, is a hamlet in the Canton of Wallis. It is located on a sunny terrace above the Rhone Valley at approximately 1'408 meters above sea level and belongs to the municipality of Eggerberg. From 2027, this region will be part of the new, merged municipality of Visp. Until 1854, Finnen was an independent political municipality. The exposed location facing southwest offers an impressive view of the Rhone Valley as well as the four-thousand-meter peaks of the Saas and Mattertal valleys. Finnen is accessible year-round via an asphalted road that leads up from Eggerberg via Eggen. This road ends in Finnen and is served by the Postauto during the summer months.
