Room in a shared flat

Hey dear ones,

since my roommate is moving out in the first week of December, I am looking for 2 new people who are interested in shared flat life. One person will be able to join the main lease agreement directly, but must earn at least 3000 CHF net. The other person will initially only be able to live as a subtenant, but could perspectively also join the main lease agreement and can earn less until then.

Apartment and location

The apartment is absolutely fantastic: located on the 4th floor (with an elevator!) it offers an incredible amount of light, a modern kitchen with induction, and lots of beautiful parquet in the rooms. There are 2 large rooms (I live in one of them) of 20sqm each and a smaller one of 11sqm. Additionally, the apartment has a small mansard in the attic (currently unfortunately not well heated), in which one could perhaps set up a study or studio.

Location is also brilliant, of course: Mittelstrasse (Migros, Sattler, Rösterei) right in front of your nose, 5 minutes by bike to the train station, 5 minutes by bike to Bremgartenwald, 3 minutes downhill to the Reitschule and yet so quiet that you can sleep on the balcony in summer...

As beautiful as it all is - without the right people it's no fun, and therefore I am looking for 2 new roommates.

WG Life

I wish for a life together with creative and exciting people who also enjoy exchange and community. Not a quiet working professionals' WG, but a kind of homebase where our friends are welcome at any time, things happen spontaneously, and there is always somehow a little bit going on. Spontaneous shared dinner, going out together sometimes, or accidentally getting stuck in good conversations in the kitchen on a Tuesday evening would be great!

Of course, you can't force it, but if you are basically open to this kind of living together, that would be a good start :)

I myself have lived in countless WGs in Osnabrück, Köln, and Berlin over the last 10 years and would find it super if basic consideration and a sense of responsibility lead to everyone feeling comfortable and we don't need a cleaning schedule etc. Regarding the general vibe, in case of doubt, one just sees what works well.

Sharing the fridge/vegetable box and cooking for each other if the opportunity arises would be great - I mainly cook vegetarian but am quite flexible.

Oh yeah: The WG is a queerfriendly space, absolutely zero interest in racism, sexism, and right-wing political views!

About me

I am Leon, 31, come from Germany and have been living in Bern for 2 years now. I am an open and uncomplicated guy who likes to be on the go and get to know new places and people, has interests in cooking, photography, art, concerts, left-wing politics, and woodworking, and is always up for something spontaneous.

4 afternoons per week I work as a guitar teacher in Thun and give photo workshops on the weekend, so I have relatively strange working hours but plenty of time during the day and can also stay up longer during the week.

I would say we'll just discuss the rest then? I am traveling until mid-October, so we would have to get to know each other online first. My roommate is there at the moment, however, and can simply show you the apartment.
